Paul is the sole Director of Cahill Family Lawyers and an Accredited Family Law Specialist with the Law Institute of Victoria, having been an Accredited Specialist since 1992, making him one of the longest serving and most senior family law specialists in Australia.

Paul was admitted to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria and of the High Court of Australia in 1983 after completing his Bachelor of Law/Bachelor of Economics at Monash University.

Paul’s extensive experience in family law has led to a longstanding reputation amongst clients, colleagues and judicial officers. Paul’s services are regularly sought after by clients who seek assistance with matters ranging from divorce and intricate parenting disputes, through to complex financial matters including businesses, companies and trusts.

Paul is compassionate in his communications with clients and is well known for his personal approach to the needs of his clients particular situation. Paul is widely regarded for his careful attention to the technical detail each matter presents and the strategies he adopts and implements, in order to achieve the best possible outcome for his clients.

Paul continues to volunteer as a Family Lawyer at the Barwon Community Legal Service night clinic, where he is the longest serving volunteer.

Paul has been recognised as a Preeminent Family & Divorce Lawyer in Regional Victoria in the 2023 Doyle’s Guide.
